Coastal Heritage Walk –
RSPB Marshside reserve 

Sunday 2 October, Sunday 6 November and Sunday 4 December.

Join us on this guided walk around the reserve and out onto the saltmarsh. Discover the coastal heritage of Marshside and the amazing birds and wildlife found here. Meet at 11am at the fog bell on Marshside Road, Southport. It’s right next to the bus stop so why not arrive on public transport.

This event is free but donations are always welcome. No need to book, just turn up!

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear as this is an exposed site and part of the walk will be on the old haul road across the saltmarsh. No dogs please.

Big Tide Bird WALK – RSPB Marshside reserve

Join us on a guided walk out to the birds as the tide comes in. Watch the amazing bird spectacle as waders and other birds move across the marsh looking for roosting sites as the water rises. Knowledgeable guides will be able to help you identify the moving flocks.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear as this is an exposed site and the walk with be on the old haul road across the saltmarsh. Unfortunately the walks are not suitable for push chairs or wheelchairs. No dogs please.

£3 RSPB members, £5 non-RSPB members. No need to book, just turn up!

Meet in car park on Marine Drive, Southport (next to the reserve and old sand works).

Friday 30 September - 11:30am to 2:30pm (high tide at 1:40pm, 9.9m)

Saturday 1 October - 12:30pm to 3:30pm (high tide at 2:20pm, 9.5m)

Thursday 27 October  - 10am to 1pm (high tide at 11:50am, 9.9m)

Friday 28 October - 10:30am to 1:30pm (high tide at 12:35pm, 10m)

Big Tide Bird WATCH –
RSPB Hesketh Out Marsh

As the tide comes in, discover the birds and other wildlife of Hesketh Out Marsh and the Ribble estuary. Knowledgeable staff and volunteers will be on hand to help identify the waders, raptors and other bird species.

Park in the car park at the end of Dib Road, off Shore Road, Hesketh Banks. Staff and volunteers will be on site at the viewing platform.

There is a wheelchair and pushchair friendly surfaced path to the viewing platform. It is an exposed site so please wear suitable clothing. No dogs please.

These are free events, but donations are always welcome. No need to book, just turn up!
