Don't miss your chance to have your say regarding the management of the Ribble Estuary National Nature Reserve.
Consultation will run until 22 January 2010.
The nature reserve, established in 1979, now includes over half of the Ribble Estuary. Its 4,697 hectares (11,613 acres) contain large areas of intertidal mud and sand flats and the largest single area of saltmarsh in northwest England. The main wildlife interest within the site is the birds, and Natural England’s management, particularly of the saltmarshes, has resulted in an increase in the numbers of many species.
Every 5 years the Management Plan is reviewed to ensure that management practices are assessed for their success and new information taken on board.
Natural England is consulting with the public about the management plan and you can get involved. Please follow this link to Natural England's Ribble Estuary NNR page, then scroll to the bottom of the page to find details of the online survey.
